Narrative
SNOHOMISH CO., WA – An 18-year-old man died last Monday in a two-vehicle crash linked to street racing in northwest Snohomish County.
The incident occurred around 1 p.m. along the northbound side of I-5 near mile marker 212. This is just east of Stanwood and north of Sunday Lake.
Police say that a silver 2012 Infiniti G37 was racing a 2021 Dodge Challenger when the driver of the Infiniti lost control and collided with the rear of an 18-wheeler. The Infiniti then caught fire after leaving the roadway and landing in a ditch.
The driver of the Infinti died from his injuries. Authorities have not yet released his name to the public.
Officials arrested the driver of the Challenger on a charge of vehicular homicide.
