Narrative
RENTON, WA – An 18-year-old driver caused a multi-vehicle crash that killed three kids and an adult last Tuesday in Renton.
The incident happened around 12:45 p.m. on 140th Avenue Southeast near Southeast 192nd Avenue, which is in the East Hill-Meridian area.
Police say the 18-year-old was speeding and driving recklessly when he caused an accident involving four vehicles.
The collision killed a 12-year-old girl, a 13-year-old girl, a 12-year-old boy, and a 38-year-old woman. Authorities identified the adult victim as Andrea Hudson.
Additionally, medics transported three people to the hospital with serious injuries, and one other person sustained non-critical injuries.
The suspect, identified as Chase Daniel Jones, faces multiple charges, including several counts of vehicular homicide, two counts of vehicular assault, and reckless driving.
The investigation is ongoing.
