Narrative
GRANT CO., WA – A dust storm could be at fault for a multi-vehicle crash with injuries along the highway in Grant County on Saturday.
The accident happened in the afternoon along WA-17, which runs from north to south through the center of the county. Police have not provided a mile marker or cross street.
Authorities say that low visibility led a driver to slow suddenly along the southbound side of the highway. The car behind the vehicle in front failed to stop, causing a chain-reaction crash that involved five vehicles. One of the cars from this initial crash then collided with a northbound vehicle while swerving to avoid the pile up.
Four people were injured in the accident. It’s unclear how many of them required hospitalization.
