Narrative
A pedestrian was killed while walking with traffic on Stevens Dr. on March 15th. This pedestrian had already been on local authorities radar as they had received reports of someone walking in the actual traffic lanes near University Dr. and Stevens Dr.. When the fatal auto-pedestrian crash happened at 4a.m., police were nearby and quickly found the scene. The authorities were able to assess the driver and found that speed or alcohol were not factors in the crash. All lanes of Stevens Dr. were closed for a few hours. George Washington Way was recommended as a new route, especially for Pacific Northwest National Laboratory and Hanford nuclear reservation workers.
